Ad of the Day: Magic snow globe turns Christmas upside down in M&S spot
Following the retailer’s food spot earlier this week, the focus is now on festive fashion in all its dazzling glory.
M&S has released its Christmas Clothing and Home campaign that features young star Skylar Blu, set to the tune of I Believe in Miracles by the Jackson Sisters. Behind the lens is Emmy-nominated director Elliot Power, and choreography is by Corey Baker, known for his work on the movie Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
The story follows a slightly mischievous yet endearing young girl who, with the help of a magical snow globe, brings her family together in the most surprising ways. She becomes the spark for her family’s festive transformation, setting off a whirlwind of changes that make both rooms and people tumble, sway, and turn upside down.
“The choreography and movement lean into physical theatre – think unconventional positions in conventional spaces,” said Baker. “We wanted to create something that feels familiar but dreamy and playful – a fantastical spectacle that gives you that heart-warming Christmas cheer feeling.”
The campaign will run from November 7 to December 15 across various channels. The full 90-second TV ad will premier during ITV’s This Morning.
Director, Elliott Power says: “The excitement of kids at Christmas is infectious, it reminds us what it felt like and it takes us back. This is not just a fashion film but a festive flight of fancy through a child’s eyes and a visual spectacle with a playful tone, with beautiful elevated festive fashion integrated throughout.”
